I'm new to Android ROM compilation. I have a Galaxy S4 Mini (serranoltexx) and I want to build the new SlimLP for this deivce. As I said before I'm new to this topic and I have no experiance in Android ROM development (but great skills in Android application developemnt and Linux operating systems)
I read about this a bit on the internet and found out that I have to use the device tree and some other device specific files to build the ROM for my device. Here are some links from a CM 12 project which are maybe helpfull:
- android_device_samsung_serranoltexx
- propietary_vendor_samsung_serrano-common
- proprietary_vendor_samsung
Can someone please explain to me how I can build SlimLP for my S4 Mini with the repos fom above? And can I use these files also for future releases from Android (i.e 5.1) or do they need an update for newer Android versions? And is there a save way to test the compiled ROM without destroying my phone?
