Rooted Samsung S4, Kids Mode: Parental control has stopped

Rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 (TowelRoot). Froze a number of apps w Titanium (aside: that and disabling Data and Wifi when screen is off via MacroDroid has +greatly+ improved battery life). Subsequently, tried setting up Kids Mode (via built in widget), but after pin, password, name/bday setup, get "Unfortunately, Parental Control has stopped." Could being rooted alone be the cause? Or perhaps Parental Control relies on another app(s) that is(are) now frozen?

If this is not specific enough a question, then: does anyone know what apps Parental Control requires for Kids Mode to function (I545, FNK1)?
