Changing the default ports for an application

I have to use a public WiFi service that blocks a number of ports related to online games (Clash of Clans mostly). On a pc this wouldn't be a problem to get around, on a phone though, I'm not so sure.

Thus I have two actual questions:

1. 
   

   Could I simply change the default port of my application to one that would not be censored and work with said application?

   
   


2. 
   

   Are there any other workarounds that would make this work, even if said work around aren't ports related?
