Janaury 2015 Upgrade

I am so frustrated with this upgrade. I have a Nexus 4. I had email accounts set up on phone. No problems then with this upgrade, with transfer to GMAIL, it recognizes my two work emails, but what was my primary email, it shows it is there, but wont let me access nor does it download mail from its server. If I try to add it, it tells me it is there. If I delete and try to read it, I am afraid it will not download all from server, especially that I will lose responses to emails from my phone that will not be on my server. This email is actually what I use as primary with clients. Thus very concerned. Thoughts. Thanks so much .
