Trying to create a swipeable html slide show w. embedded audio on Android

It seems that all my years as a unix-sysadmin with only a bit of experience in simple HTML & CSS are rather useless ;-)

I'm trying to create a no-nonsense index.html to display a manual slideshow (manual slide progression) for use as locally stored html on an android device.

This seems to be far less simple than I had imagined ;-)

After a fair bit of googling I came across http://ift.tt/1dRQN6O which seems to do most of what I'm looking for, but I simply can't figure out where to go from here :-(

I've gotten as far as http://ift.tt/1Elj817 which works OK in Chrome on Android, but using the default browser i get a rather tall page with no <DIV> content. (I should mention that I've downloaded the jquery-lib to the device in the same dir as index.html)

What I'm aiming for is to display some text, have the audio (mp3) content autostart when the <DIV> is displayed and (importantly) stop again when the <DIV> is no longer displayed (next <DIV> & audio to take over).

I'm trying to create a sort of tour guide for an upcoming event which (hopefully) will be re-useable for a possible next event :)

Ideally I'd like index.html to load the content for each <DIV> from individual files, but that seems completely out of reach for me.

Am I in the ballpark with this or should I simply give up and do something else?
