Is it possible to set chromecast to sleep when not casting?

So, I really enjoy my chromecast. I have it plugged into the second input on my monitor, and its a breeze to control netflix/music from my phone while doing chores (pause when I'm out of hearing distance, skip tracks, etc). Unfortunately, I have to remember to turn off the monitor when I'm done because the Chromecast defaults to a slideshow

My monitor will go to sleep if no video signal is sent from the connected device (IE, if my computer were turned off, or if my chromecast were unplugged). Is there a way to set the chromecast to stop outputting video when not actively in use?
