Home screen icons don't stay where I put them

When I drag an app icon for some apps to the home screen, soon afterward the icon disappears from the home screen. What can I do to fix this behaviour so the icon stays where it's put?

If it matters:

• The device is an HTC Incredible S


• The OS is Android 4.4.4, CyanogenMod 11, build Vivokat #10.27.


• The app in question is OsmAnd~.

This isn't about the app's or device's behaviour, though; it's about the Home Screen's behaviour in Android.

How can I diagnose what's causing the app icon to disappear, and get it to stay like other icons?
