Network Problems with certain commands on GNURoot Debian Wheezy

When I attempt to use commands such as ping, nmap, and arpspoof, I recieve various errors saying that the operation is not permitted. I am running as root. What confuses me is that apt-get install and ssh works. Here is what happens when I run others commands:

root@localhost:/usr/sbin# ping google.com ping: icmp open socket: Operation not permitted root@localhost:/usr/sbin# ./arpspoof 192.168.0.2 arpspoof: no suitable device found root@localhost:/usr/sbin# root@localhost:/usr/sbin# ./arpspoof -i wlan0 192.168.0.2 arpspoof: socket: Operation not permitted root@localhost:/usr/sbin# nmap 192.168.0.101

Starting Nmap 6.00 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2015-02-24 17:45 UTC socket troubles in Init: Operation not permitted (1)
