Is there a way to store/backup messages for a specific app (GrindR)?

I am looking for a way to save chat messages that are stored locally on my device using GrindR app on Android.

Is there a way to do this?

GrindR official support said

I'm afraid that your messages on Grindr are stored locally on your device and not in our cloud servers. So if you uninstall the app for any reason or switch phones your messages will be lost.

Since messages are visible in my app I imagine there is a way to save them. So I wonder how. As a programmer, I know there must be a way to retrieve them, regardless of what tech support says.

I can always take screenshots of individual conversations, if I wanted but that's not a viable way to save this data.
