why cant i get 2cnd partician i can when rooting i can get fat32 but not ext 2 i am redoing step to delete so niether apply

just need to know how to get ext 2 without erasing first primary partician fof fat 32. I have been using mini tool and a very good screenshot how to but step must be missing cause phone does not come up with proper screen shot and only has one promary on sd card not two
