Thumbnails generated from app smilies etc

So I have a Sony Xperia L and a few months ago my phone started generating thumbnails for smilies/stickers for apps like Viber, Facebook Messenger and so on. Is there a way to somehow fix this? Deleting the thumbnails doesn't help they just come back. Thanks
