App breaks auto brighntess. How do I fix this?

I use an app called Manga Rock on my android devices. It works great except that for some reason it disables my auto brightness on all of them, creating a very uncomfortable environment at night where its at full brightness. I have resorted to downloading another app to counteract this by dimming the screen, but things get confusing when I exit Manga Rock, as it becomes too dark to navigate, so its trial and error turning it off. Is there some way I can force auto brightness into an app?
