Possible to disable or shutdown phone (or just security camera app) from another android over internet?

I have some contractors doing some work on my house over the next few weeks. I've been looking into turning my old S3 into a motion detection cam. This way I could see if anyone enters my office, while I'm not home. I settled on Securet Spycam, which simply sends me an email notification, with photo attached, in 5 second increments as it detects motion in it's view. The problem with all these security camera apps I've found, is that there is no way to communicate with them, unless you're on the same network. My fear is something unexpected will happen, and I'll be getting emails of pics every 5 seconds, for the entire day ( ie: 2 o'clock shadow of a tree blowing in the wind etc)

So I'm looking for a way that I could either:

  1. Control the S3 from my daily driver, via internet. Either by shutting down app, shutting off wifi or shutting down S3. The S3 is WiFi only.

  2. Or could I create a recipe in Tasker or IFTT? Like, if so many emails/ or app wakelocks or camera shutter etc.= turn off wifi.

Both devices are rooted. Samsung S3 and Note 2. Both are still on JB. Any ideas?
