my phone is charging but could not connect to laptop

My phone is charging but could not connect to laptop. The data cable I used first connects my phone but My phone is charging but could not connect to laptop. The data cable I used first connects my phone but instantly it stop connecting my phone but it supports other phones.My phone's android is 4.3 Please help me and resolve my problem as soon as possible.
