Franco kernel "audio boost" damage risk?

I was wondering what is the actual risk of increasing the "speaker audio boost" in Franco kernel settings?

Obviously, the easy answer is to not to modify default settings to minimize risk, but I wanted to hear whether anyone had any experience with that particular setting.

Fiy-set to gain 5 on a nexus 5, no distortion whatsoever up to 15.
